Health First Cal-Mag Supreme Liquid

$30.99

Plant-sourced AquaminTM calcium and magnesium with key factors for bones.

If you’re a woman in your menopausal years, your doctor may have recommended taking calcium for bone support. Care should be taken with calcium supplementation, as you don’t want to overload on it. The form of calcium you’re taking also matters: if hard to absorb, supplements can potentially cause more problems than they solve.

Health First Cal-Mag Supreme is formulated with Aquamin™ calcium, a sustainable, red algae source with a unique honeycomb structure that makes it more easily absorbed, with less incidence of gastric upset and constipation than other sources. Aquamin™ has even been shown to be as effective as glucosamine in reducing joint pain and stiffness!

Features & Benefits:

  • Formulated with plant-sourced Aquamin™ calcium
  • Contains magnesium, potassium, boron, and vitamin D3
  • May reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis

Bone mass changes throughout our lives. When we hit our late 40s and early 50s, particularly women who are hitting menopause, we start to lose bone mass. Osteoporosis is a disease of the bone where humans lose an excess amount of bone mineral density. Loss of bone mineral density leaves bones porous and weak, which can lead to an increased risk of fractures or disfigurement, resulting in reduction or loss of mobility and decreased independence.

Recent studies have raised concerns over high amounts of supplemental calcium sourced from limestone. Excess calcium from this source may not be absorbed and may end up in the arteries as plaque deposits that restrict blood flow and negatively affect arterial flexibility, leading to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease.

That’s where a unique plant grown off the coast of Iceland comes in. Known as Lithothamnion Calcareum, this red algae plant offers an alternative to limestone calcium mined from rock. The plant grows for 3 - 5 years in the shallows of the clean, pristine Icelandic fjords. It then begins to calcify, becoming 35% pure calcium and 2.5% magnesium, together with 72 other minerals.

At last, a source of calcium that is food-based and potent in strength!

The harvesting of Aquamin is done by a local Icelandic company. Only the top portion of a bed of calcified red algae is harvested from the bottom of the fjord. The living material growing in the shallows is never harvested, ensuring continued sustainability. Every batch of Aquamin material is tested to be safe from any ocean-borne heavy metals.

Cal-Mag Supreme is a complete bone health formulation, as it is fortified with extra magnesium, potassium, boron, zinc, and vitamin D. Vitamin K2 has been added to the tablets, and lemon/lime flavoured liquid to help direct calcium to the bones. The original Cal-Mag Supreme liquid flavoured with natural chocolate does not contain K2 for consumers that are concerned with interactions with blood thinners.
